The History of Onganja
Pieter Wouter Wessels
arrived in 1918 in Namibia from South Africa, looking for a farm.
He got a job as a farm manager.
In September 1919 his wife and children arrived from South Africa.
On 16 July 1920 he died on the farm.
His
wife Jacoba Maria Wessels then bought ONGANJA in 1923 and
built the farm house and the dam.
In 1934 Eduard Christiaan Hamman
married Helen Wessels, one of the children.
They started farming
in 1943.
 His
son Eduard Christiaan Hamman took over in 1958. In 1968 he
bought Klein Onganja where Onganja Hunting is based today.
I, Eduard Christiaan Hamman IV,
started farming in 1992, being the fourth generation. My son
Adru will be the fifth.
Eduard Christiaan Hamman IV,
better known as Eddie Hamman, is a professional farmer, hunting
guide and qualified bow hunter. With almost 10 years of experience in all
the above fields, Eddie will surely make your hunting experience a
dream come true!
